A recipient of this year’s Ascend NorCal Community Impact Award, Dave Lu is a Silicon Valley veteran with a deep commitment to uplifting the Asian American community. With over two decades at tech giants like Yahoo, Apple, and eBay, and as the founder of two startups, Dave now leads Hyphen Capital, a venture firm empowering Asian American founders.

 

Dave sparked a movement with an open letter in the Wall Street Journal condemning hate crimes against Asians and co-founded Stand with Asian Americans, a non-profit fighting discrimination. In this interview series, he shares his beliefs, his journey of building this impactful community, navigating the dual identity of being Asian American, and unveiling the “secret weapons” of Asian American talents.
